Commercial HVAC Rebates & Efficiency Incentives

We can help customers explore efficiency incentives available through Mass Save, Cape Light Compact, and other programs. Eligibility, equipment requirements, and pre-approval conditions vary, so available incentive amounts aren’t automatic.

Cape Light Compact lists the following commercial incentives by system capacity:

Air-source heat pumps: $2,000 per ton for qualifying equipment
Variable Refrigerant Flow systems: $2,800 per ton for systems that vary refrigerant delivery among zones
Ground-source heat pumps: $3,600 per ton for qualifying equipment

Pre-approval is required for new construction and commercial installations exceeding 150 tons. Commercial eligibility also requires an existing electric account with a participating sponsor, equipment approved by the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute, purchase through a participating distributor, and installation by an appropriately licensed trade professional.

Mass Save Commercial Upstream incentives, delivered through the equipment supply channel, include eligible air-source air conditioners, water-cooled or evaporatively cooled air conditioners, and dual enthalpy economizer controls installed with new eligible equipment. Program rules and incentive levels can change, so we can review current requirements when discussing an energy-efficient equipment upgrade.
